For CFOs, CEOs, and Owners

Stop sitting through AI pitch decks. Start with a proof of concept on your real data.

Most AI vendors want a six figure commitment before they show you anything that works. We do it the other way. We scope the riskiest piece of your workflow, build it against your actual data, and only continue if it earns the next phase. You own the outcome either way.

Why You Are Reading This

You already know AI should be on the table. You do not know who to trust.

Pick the sentence that sounds most like what is happening in your leadership meetings.

"Your PM keeps sending you ChatGPT prompts. That is not a strategy."

"Three vendors have pitched AI. They all sound the same. None have shown you proof."

"Your IT director wants to build something in house. You are not sure they can ship."

"Your team is burning hours on work the systems should be doing. You cannot price the leak."

"Every vendor wants a six figure commitment before they show you working code."

"You read the case studies. You cannot tell what is real and what is marketing."

The No Risk Proof of Concept

We build the riskiest piece first. Against your real data. On a fixed scope.

Three to five weeks. Fixed fee. We walk away if it does not work. You keep what we built either way.

Week 1: Scoped

We pick the one workflow that is leaking the most money. We map the data. We define what working means in measurable terms before any code gets written.

Weeks 2 to 4: Built

We build the riskiest piece against your actual data. Not a demo. Not a sandbox. The real thing, on your stack, under your security controls.

Week 5: Decided

You review the working POC against the success criteria from Week 1. If it earns the production phase, we scope it. If it does not, you keep the code and the documentation. No hard feelings.

Real Numbers

Fixed fee. No hourly billing. No surprise scope changes.

A POC runs $8,000 to $25,000 depending on workflow complexity. The fee is fixed before we start. We do not bill by the hour and we do not write change orders to keep the lights on.

If the POC earns the production phase, that phase runs $30,000 to $150,000 depending on scope, with the same fixed fee model. Multi workflow platforms run $150,000 to $500,000.

Most clients start with one POC and decide on the production phase by week six. Some stop at the POC and run it themselves. Both are clean outcomes for us.

Michael Bowers

Built by an operator. Not an agency.

I spent three decades running operations before I built Heed. I have hired AP clerks, fired vendors who could not ship, and signed checks for software that never made it to production. I built Heed because the AI vendor market needs more operators and fewer pitchmen.

Every deployment is ISO 42001 aligned, NIST AI RMF compliant, and either HIPAA, SOX, or EU AI Act safe depending on what your business actually needs. I am CISA certified and ISO 27001 Lead Auditor certified. Three production AI deployments in 2025 saved clients over $300,000. Zero security incidents.

What Happens Next

Thirty minutes. One conversation. Then we both decide.

The discovery call is not a sales pitch. It is a working conversation. I ask about the workflow that is leaking the most money. You ask about anything that would help you decide if a POC makes sense. By the end of the call you have a directional scope and a fee range. If we both think it makes sense, we book the POC. If not, you have a sharper map of your own situation than you did 30 minutes ago. That is also a clean outcome.

Vendor Diligence

Four questions that filter the pitch decks from the operators.

  1. Will you build the riskiest piece first as a POC against my real data, or do you need a six figure production commitment before I see anything work?
  2. What happens to the code, the documentation, and the integration if I decide not to continue after the POC?
  3. Are you ISO 42001 aligned and NIST AI RMF compliant by default, or is that an upcharge?
  4. Can I talk to a current client about what it is actually like to work with you and what they would do differently?

We answer all four with yes. Many vendors cannot.

Common Questions

What CFOs ask before booking the call.

What if my data is messy or incomplete?

Most data is messy. The POC tells us whether your data is workable as is, needs cleanup, or needs a different approach. That answer alone is worth the engagement.

What about HIPAA, SOX, or other compliance?

Every deployment is ISO 42001 aligned by default. HIPAA, SOX, and EU AI Act safe architectures are standard. BAA covered providers only. No public LLM endpoints for regulated data.

How fast can the POC start?

Discovery call this week, scoping the week after, build kicks off the week after that. Most POCs are in production testing within four to five weeks of the discovery call.

Do you work with companies outside Southern California?

Yes. We are based in Los Angeles and most of our clients are between LA, Orange County, Ventura, and the Inland Empire. We have remote deployments in Texas and Florida as well.

What does your team look like?

Michael leads every engagement. We bring in specialist contractors for specific stacks when the build requires it. Every deliverable has Michael's sign off.

What happens after the POC ends?

You decide. Production build, internal handoff, or nothing. All three are normal. If you keep the code we hand over documentation, deployment notes, and the access tokens. You own it.
